Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- During the past week (from July 13 to 19), the tourism sector generated an economic spill of 38 million pesos, reported David González Torrentera, head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Mazatlan fishing.

The municipal official pointed out that during the week (from Monday to Thursday) 9,047 visitors were registered, which represented a hotel occupancy of 28 percent when using 3,351 hotel rooms.

Meanwhile, he added that during the weekend the influx increased to 12,027 tourists and hotel reservation levels increased to an average 40.2 percent, with a total of 4,811 rooms occupied.
