2 arrested for robbery and disappearance of a Mazatlan man

The victim of the crime is still not located

Mazatlan; Two people accused of the crimes of disappearance committed by individuals, vehicle theft, and aggravated robbery, committed in Mazatlan, were arrested in Michoacán based on arrest warrants obtained by the Sinaloa State Attorney General’s Office and made available to the judge.

América Alejandra Q. and Saúl Bladimir C. are accused of allegedly participating in the disappearance of the victim, residing in the Esperanza neighborhood, who was stripped of various assets, including jewelry, furniture, cash, and two vehicles.

For these events, in April 2020, the Agency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office Specializing in Forced Disappearance of Persons from the Southern Region, began the investigation folder MAZTL / FEDFP / 1358/2020 / CI.

The victim was subdued at his own home and once the alleged perpetrators seized his belongings, they withdrew from the scene, taking with them the victim, a man, who so far has not been located.

Through the acts of an investigation carried out by the Sinaloa Prosecutor’s Office, the identity of the people who allegedly participated in the events was obtained and one of the stolen vehicles was secured in the city of Culiacán.

With the evidence obtained, on June 15, criminal case 128/2020 was filed to request arrest warrants for the crimes of aggravated robbery in an inhabited residence, robbery of a vehicle, and willful disappearance of the victim.

On June 16, 2020, the injunctions against América Alejandra Q. and Saúl Bladimir C. were executed, who were located in the city of Morelia, Michoacán, and immediately transferred to Sinaloa to make them available for Criminal prosecution to face charges.

At the initial hearing held on June 19, 2020, an imputation was made and a link to the process was requested, but the defendants requested the jurisdictional authority to exercise its benefit of the duplicity of the term at 144 hours, for which a date of continuation of the hearing for June 22, 2020, while the accused remain in informal preventive detention.
