No reopening date, summer is uncertain for Mazatlan hotels

If the sector reopens at the end of the month, hoteliers hope to “save” some of the holiday period.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa (June 19, 2020).- Mazatlán hotels do not yet have an exact date to open, so talking about starting to receive guests continues to be speculation. To date, there is still no authorization from the state government.

From June 1, tentative dates began to be given even some lodging establishments announced their opening, which have been postponed, now there are those who say that the reactivation of the hotels could take place on June 22, others on 29 and some more on the 1st of July.

The president of the Tres Islas Hotels and Motels Association, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, admitted that the expectations are not very good for the summer, however, he trusted that if the sector reactivates at the end of the month, with all the preventive measures, you can save something from the vacation period.

However, the sector knows and is aware of the importance of taking care of health in the face of the number of infections that continue to be registered in the state, for which reason they expect citizens to abide by the recommendations and join in following the established health guidelines.

Manguart Sánchez commented that a recovery option may be the issuing market generated by the Mazatlán-Durango highway.

The hotel leader reiterated that they continue to work on the protocols for reopening in the hotel, as they await the date that the health authorities determine to implement them.
