Mazatlán.- With the aim of keeping the beaches clean, although they remain closed by the health contingency, this Saturday the Government of Mazatlán, through the Operator and Administrator of Beaches, with the support of the Ecology Department, the Aquatic Salvage Squadron and the Tourist Police, removed one hundred and fifty kilos of garbage from the emblematic beach of Olas Altas.

Palizada that the tide drags to the shore in a natural way and diverse garbage, especially composed of micro plastics, was what was collected in the area.

This cleanup is part of the operational schedule maintained by the OAP, despite the closure of beaches in force since last April 3 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In recent months, workshops have been held with a limited number of people, respecting the healthy distance and following all the sanitary protocols indicated by the authorities, managing to impact some areas of Avenida Del Mar beach, Pinitos beach and Olas Altas with cleaning actions. .

During the closure of beaches, the OAP has accounted for approximately 800 kilos of garbage removed from various points on the coastal strip, which even without bathers can shine with waste that the sea takes to the shore of the beaches and is collected by personnel from the paramunicipal.
