Mazatlan Aquarium waits for the green light to open doors

The Aquarium Director points out that the site will have sanitary measures to prevent the contagion of Covid-19 among its visitors.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa (June 12, 2020).- “The Mazatlán Aquarium is declared ready to receive visitors, once the traffic light of Covid-19 turns green, since the conditioning works with sanitary measures are almost 100%,” said the director of this recreational center, biologist Pablo Rojas Zepeda.

He said that with the new normal, the Aquarium will offer the public a safe place during their stay in the exhibition areas and facilities of this enclosure, from the beginning of the tour that includes a sanitizing and hand washing bath, shoe disinfection, and an automated sanitation system activated every 2 hours in the exhibition spaces.

In addition, income by groups of no more than 200 people in each exhibition area is contemplated, such as the sea lions show, one of the main attractions of the Aquarium.

Rojas Zepeda explained that the Aquarium staff has not stopped working indoors, although it is not open to the public, they continue to provide care and food to the animals under shelter.

Regarding the capacity in which the Aquarium will operate, once its facilities are reopened, he pointed out that it will be approximately 30 to 40%, since the number of people entering the different exhibition areas will be reduced.
