Sinaloa ranks second nationally as a promoter of the sustainability of its beaches

Sinaloa.- Sinaloa obtained the Clean Beach certification for nine coastal sections and ranks second in the nation as a promoter of the sustainability of the beaches, a mark achieved thanks to the participation of authorities, residents and service providers, said the Secretary for Sustainable Development, Carlos Gandarilla García.
In a zoom meeting with executives of the Mexican Institute for Normalization and Certification (IMNC), he congratulated the heads of the ecology of the municipalities of Mazatlan, San Ignacio, Elota, Navolato, Angostura and Guasave and invited them to continue working to maintain sustainability. and the quality of the Sinaloa beaches.
He stressed that the vision of Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel is that Sinaloa is distinguished by the care of its natural resources and the health of those who visit these tourist destinations, for this reason, SEDESU supported itself with economic resources and coastal infrastructure to meet the criteria established Semarnat’s Mexican Standard 120.
Viviana Fernández Camargo, general director of the IMNC, announced that the certified Sinaloa beaches are: El Verde Camacho, Gaviotas, Luna Bonita and Estrella del Mar, in Mazatlán; Las Labradas in San Ignacio, Ceuta in Elota, Las Águilas in Navolato, Costa Azul in Angostura and Las Glorias in Guasave.
He commented that the beaches are an invaluable and fundamental natural resource for the tourist activity of the country and recognized the impulse of the Sustainable Development Secretariat for these municipalities to advance in the certification.
He added that Mexico has 37 certified beaches in 10 states, of which Sinaloa has the largest with certification, El Verde Camacho worldwide for conservation type and Estrella del Mar recreational type nationwide, both in Mazatlán.
It should be noted that this information was released as part of a webinar conducted by the IMNC and SEDESU called “Sinaloa Towards Sustainable Beaches”, where representatives of Ahome, Guasave, Angostura, Navolato, Elota, Mazatlán, El Rosario and Escuinapa participated.
