Manzanillo Colima.- The bodies of seven state police officers who disappeared on May 29 were found inside a van, on the border of Colima and Jalisco.

Sources from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) reported that the bodies were found inside a Chrysler Pacifica minivan, which was parked near a soccer field in the community of Los Cedros, in Manzanillo.

The agents were attached to the State Preventive Police and some had been with the department for 12 years and were assigned to patrol and crime prevention tasks.

It was on May 29 when, along with three other female police officers and two civilians, they were deprived of liberty in the municipality of Cuautitlán de García Barragán, when they were escorting some foreign mining businessmen who had arrived at the Manzanillo International Airport.

The three women and the two civilians were reportedly released on the morning of Sunday, May 31.

After the discovery, personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office went to the site to take evidence, start the investigation folder and order the removal of the bodies.
