Mazatlán, Sinaloa (May 10, 2020).- To avoid crowds caused by the celebration of Mother’s Day, the Mazatlán City Council launched an operation involving 160 surveillance units from the Secretary of Municipal Public Security and Civil Protection.

The operation, which was launched by mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, will focus mainly on establishments such as restaurants and celebrations that take place in private homes, from this morning until 9 PM.

With these types of actions, the municipality seeks to mitigate and contain the spread of the coronavirus among the population, which must maintain a healthy distance at all times, or preferably stay at home to avoid contagion.

The security operation is concentrated in 40 areas of the municipality including the municipal seat and the rural communities, where the authorities’ main goal is to avoid crowds during the Mother’s Day celebration.

“We must thank our police corporations for what they are doing, for contributing to the health, life, and well-being of the Mazatlecos. We have a task that is highly responsible, so that today and tomorrow we will practically be working on this operation “, declared the mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez.
