The gradual economic revival could start June 1

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Economic activity in Mazatlán – which has stagnated and slowed down as a result of the health contingency – could begin to gradually reactivate from June 1; as long as the number of COVID-19 infections does not increase exponentially, announced Jesús Sandoval Gaxiola, president of Canaco Servytur in the South of the State.

However, for businesses that were closed during the health emergency to reopen their doors to the public, they must have the “Sanitary Distinctive”, a certificate that will be released in the coming days and will be endorsed by both the Secretariat of State Health, State Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks, Coepris, Secretariat of Tourism and International Health.

“We are going to wait until next week to see how they will be based to give this badge and above all how it will be valued to gradually open all businesses,” the businessman quoted.

Although this decision was taken in conjunction with the Secretary of State Tourism and other authorities, the badge will not be exclusive to businesses and activities that depend on the tourism sector but will be valid for all business lines.

In this regard, the head of SECTUR, Óscar Pérez Barros, announced that specific material will be being delivered for personnel from different economic activities.

“We are going to give you a manual, a training video and we are going to tell you ‘with this I am going to certify you’ and we are going to give you a Sanitary Badge (…), we are also seeing all this with the municipality; because it is not just hotels, we are also making some (manuals) for pulmonias, another for taxis, aurigas, airports, toll booths, for bus terminals, restaurants … because we have to come out with an image and give the greater sanitary confidence to the tourist who is going to arrive ”, mentioned the state official.

For his part, the Canaco president added that a self-evaluation test will also be given to merchants and service providers and reiterated that the complete information will be disseminated with his members starting next week.
