Last weekend, the Municipal Public Security Secretariat registered 19 reports indicating gatherings in different parts of the city

Mazatlán, Sinaloa. The Municipal Police may arrest musicians who are caught in parties held on public roads during the current quarantine and taken to jail for a court hearing, said the Secretary of the Mazatlán City Council, José de Jesús Flores Segura.

He said that the measure is part of the actions of the preventive corporation to prevent public order from being disturbed, as well as possible coronavirus infections among citizens.

However, he indicated, the municipal government has focused on calling on the population to be jointly responsible in the sense of staying home.

He clarified that throughout the Mexican Republic there is no state of curfew in which the guarantees or fundamental rights of free transit through the country are suspended.

We must understand that we are in a stage 3, where we are asked to stay as rigorously at home and apply the measures in the sense that the contagions are already found indigenously

José de Jesús Flores Segura.

Therefore, he pointed out, there is an order for the personnel of the Municipal Public Security Secretariat to prevent parties from being held on public roads and in all those places where they could be arrested.

In the case of the music workers who are caught, he said, they will be subject to a warning and if they re-offend they could receive an administrative fine by the judge, which ranges from a fine to a 36-hour arrest.

Flores Segura indicated that if the party is held inside a home, the Municipal Police are not empowered to enter unless there is an order from a Judge.

Without specifying an exact number, he mentioned that there have been complaints of celebrations that people irresponsibly perform, mainly during the weekends.
