Mazatlán, Sinaloa. (May 4, 2020).- Through a statement, the Mazatlán City Council reported that in order to maintain the strategy against Covid-19, the port pantheons will be closed on May 9, 10, and 11.

It was added that this measure applies to the city of Mazatlan and its surrounding communities, and that there will only be accessible to cemeteries in the event of any burial.

The sale of flowers will not be in-person, no flower vendors will be allowed on the premises or the surrounding area.

These actions seek to make the citizens understand that they must abide by the measures that are taken to combat the spread of Covid-19 in the municipality.

During this time of the year many Mazatlecos visit the pantheons and cemeteries of the port and the surrounding communities, since Mother’s Day is celebrated on the 10th, and it is a Mexican tradition to take flowers to a mother’s grave on May 10.
