Mazatlán, Sin.- Before the rains arrive, the three public works that are in process and that have to do with the modernization and rehabilitation of avenues will be finished; assured the Mayor, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, who informed that in Gutiérrez Nájera 30 million pesos will be invested bipartisan between the municipal and state government.
This last project includes the remodeling of the avenue, from Gabriel Leyva street to the Fisherman monument, with a length of almost 6 kilometers, and includes a bicycle path, green areas, and lighting.
Nothing had been done to that avenue for 50 years or more, and besides that it is an important tourist artery, most of the people enter through Rafael Buelna and further down that avenue, fortunately we have resources to do it, it is municipal and state, we go 50 and 50% Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres
He commented that the modernization and rehabilitation work on Rafael Buelna Avenue will finish at the end of June, according to the progress it presents, while Camarón Sábalo will do so in mid-July.
On Gutiérrez Nájera Avenue, the work will last less time, since it includes two sections, one of 2.8 kilometers and the other more than 3 kilometers, which, he assured, will be ready before the rains arrive.
Benítez Torres commented that there is no restriction to stop the public works, on the contrary, he added, there is a decree from the President of the Republic for the cement companies to continue producing.
Each municipality is different, because apart from what stops entering the city through hotels and restaurants, if we stopped public and private works it would be a catastrophe for Mazatlán, because if we now have 25,000 people without jobs, we would have 40,000 or 45,000 , and this would become a jungle

He stressed that his government has been very responsible in terms of the contingency plan and the health emergency for the COVID-19 coronavirus and that the proof is that Mazatlán is the municipality with the fewest active patients, without exceeding 11 cases, but also owes to the response of the citizen who has remained at home.
Currently, he added, Mazatlán represents less than 4% of those infected in the state of Sinaloa, so it does not see the need to close the borders, and less when the hotels are closed.
He said that the brigades will be maintained so that the closure of beaches is respected and the healthy distance is kept, as well as the restriction on the sale of alcohol in the city will be supervised, which seeks to lower the incidence of private events and parties.
Regarding people who walk or bike the Malecon, he said that as long as they keep the healthy distance they can do it, but if they crowd, the brigades will continue to invite them to retreat to their homes.
