Mazatlán mayor seeks to reactivate tourism activity by summer

Mazatlán, Sinaloa (Apil 11, 2020).- The mayor of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, announced that his administration is working to detonate tourism activity and be able to recover it by this summer.

“We are preparing for the relaunch of Mazatlán as a World-Class tourist destination. We are not going to wait for this to end, we are already preparing ourselves in the actions we are going to take ”.

“Now we must sign up and prepare with this relaunch for the summer vacations, which last year generated 3.5 billion pesos in economic income for Mazatlán. We are ready to relaunch Mazatlán ”, he emphasized.

He even stated that for that period the remodeling works of Avenida Rafael Buelna and Camarón Sábalo Avenue will be completed, and in turn, he stressed that Avenida del Mar is being remodeled too, and that it could be ready next week.

“We want Mazatlan to be at 100% for the summer holidays, be able to receive more tourists and that all tourists be surprised by the changes in our beautiful city,” he said.

Meanwhile, at the national level, Asetur (Association of Secretaries of Tourism of Mexico), together with the Federal Tourism Secretariat (SECTUR), are carrying out campaigns for national and international markets that can boost this activity in the short, medium and long term.
