Mazatlán, Sinaloa (April 5, 2020).- At least four motels in Mazatlán failed to close their doors to the public, in the midst of the health emergency against COVID-19.
Civil Protection agents with the support of the National Guard, carried out on Sunday April 5th, a surveillance operation and forced these businesses to stop providing services to people.
Oscar Osuna Tirado, coordinator of Civil Protection in southern Sinaloa, explained that for a few days, the exhortation was made to the owners to be subject to this provision of the State Government, but upon detecting that some kept operating at dawn, police corporations undertook this work and definitively closed them down.
Osuna Tirado indicated that they toured twelve motels in Mazatlán on Sunday, and upon realizing that some continued to offer lodging services they went with the National Guard, to ask them to close.
He recalled that it is important that people also join the Stay at Home measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country, and more at this crucial moment in Mazatlán, where beaches and public places are closed to all kinds of activities.
Absolutely no hotels or motels are operating in Mazatlan as of Monday April 6th, 2020, until further notice.
