Mazatlan municipal authority closed the access to the lighthouse on April 1 without previous notice.

They sent a press release citing COVID 19 as the cause of closure .

The Mazatlan lighthouse, one of the highest natural lighthouses in the world, 157 meters high, and featuring over 740 meters of dirt roads, sidewalks, trails and stairways, this place is always visited by athletes, families and tourists.

The panoramic view and the sunsets are unforgettable, and unique photographs can be taken towards the four cardinal points. Overlooking the bay, the city, in the distance the popular neighborhoods up in the hills. To the east, the Isla de la Piedra, and to the south thousands of coconut trees on the way to the “Rafael Buelna” airport.

Undoubtedly, the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, that open sea bound for Los Cabos and La Paz, “El Faro” is a natural beauty priceless for nature lovers, and a perfect spot to watch the sunset in the company of that “special someone”.

After the contingency, and once all the attractions are reopened, Mazatlán will recover its firm step towards new moments of growth and greatness.

We are really looking forward for the moment when everything goes back to normal in our beloved “Pearl of the Pacific”.
