Mazatlán, Sin.- “The health alert and preventive measures of the Covid-19 have generated the temporary closure of at least 20 businesses in Mazatlan”; estimated the president of the Mazatlán Chamber of Commerce, Jesús Sandoval Gaxiola.

He explained that the closure does not occur because businesses are bankrupt, but because the owners cannot cover some expenses, such as payroll, and warned that a massive closure could occur in the next days.

Sandoval Gaxiola stated that in the face of this health emergency, the State Ministry of the Economy activated the emerging Red Fosin Covid-19 program, to support MSMEs which are significantly affected by the social isolation derived from the pandemic.

He mentioned that a credit window for MSMEs and small merchants has been installed in the Chamber of Commerce facilities.

He pointed out that credits will be available for small businesses, and that in 10 days they will have the guidelines to be able to access these credits. Sandoval Gaxiola also announced that they will have credits of up to 2.5 million pesos available through Nafinsa.

The Canaco Mazatlán leader stated that in the face of the economic effects of this pandemic, business owners are interested in requesting this type of support, because although the disease has negative impacts such as the closure of businesses, the economic recovery could be a lot worse.
