The governor of Tabasco, Adán Augusto López, sick with coronavirus

He is the second governor of Mexico to test positive for COVID-19 and had tested negative in a previous test.

The governor of Tabasco, Adán Augusto López Hernández , reported that he tested positive for COVID-19 .

The Morenista Governor stated, from his Twitter account, that he will be at his house in quarantine and observation.

The governor said he will continue to work at home “so that Tabasco can overcome this crisis.”

The Tabasco president is the second governor who falls ill with the new coronavirus , because just yesterday his counterpart in Hidalgo , Omar Fayad , confirmed that he also has it. His case has put President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and part of his cabinet under the magnifying glass, because in previous days they gave a joint press conference at the National Palace.

Negative in previous test

Last Monday, the Ministry of Health of Tabasco applied the test to the governor, who tested negative for the disease at that time.

The head of the state agency, Silvia Roldán Fernández, explained that during the celebration of the “Day of the Notary”, on March 13, she was in contact with a person who fell ill with COVID-19, so that she was preventatively performed the test.

“It was done to the governor because he hugged him, they greeted each other,” said the official at a press conference.

After the test, this Friday Adán Augusto López made a working tour in Balancan.

The Ministry of Health reported this Saturday that there were six new cases of COVID-19 , bringing a total of 27 patients who had tested positive and 81 negatives.
