The FGR emphasized that the functions “El Capi Beto” used to carry out consisted in negotiating the price of the drug to propitiate that it be obtained by countries of Central and South America. In that sense, the man also used to supervise that the drug was transported and entered the United States to be distributed later.

The report says that, in May 2014, the United States Treasury Department, through the Office of Control of Foreign Assets (OFAC) designated “El Capi Beto” as one of the heads of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Along with “El Capi Beto“, four other people were extradited, who are also required by the US authorities to be tried for various crimes.

Roberto Carlos Gallegos Lechuga, belonging to a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking and money laundering, was also extradited.
