Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- With the aim of modernizing the port of Mazatlan to receive more ships and tourist cruise ships of greater draft, Quirino Ordaz Coppelgovernor of Sinaloa, said that in the coming weeks the national and international public tender for the construction of the new tourist cruise ship terminal of Mazatlan.

The general coordinator of Ports and Merchant Marine, Héctor López Gutiérrez, ratified the initiative, a project that will have a huge regional and national impact with an investment of 2.5 billion pesos and is expected to be completed in a year and a half after the start of its construction.

We estimate an investment of the order of 2,500 million pesos, the competition we plan to fail around 3-4 months and the construction of the terminal, and that it will come into operation, would be in a year and a half, by 2022 the new one would be finished

This terminal includes three docks for cruises, facilities for your attention, a shopping center inside the terminal, tours of the city, as well as beach activities, including fishing, all with the aim of bringing more modern cruises to the port.

López Gutiérrez said that the project will generate a very important activity in Mazatlan and includes, mainly, two aspects: the first, to complement the Matamoros-Mazatlán axis and the second, for the development of cabotage with national and international routes, mainly of Central America.
