The Mayor of Mazatlan said that force was never used to subdue and remove vendors

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The mayor of Mazatlan, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres defended the work carried out by police elements last Tuesday, February 19 in the afternoon when they removed vendors from the surroundings of Aquiles Serdán Avenue.

Even the ‘Chemist’ Benitez said it was the sellers who attacked the police and not the uniformed.

“The only thing we did was invite them to comply with the agreements, and when we told them that if they did not respect the agreements, they were going to leave, they attacked the police that it is a fault with the Police, order and good governance,” he said.

“We do not attack at any time, I have videos even if other media say otherwise (…) say that the police assaulted the people and no, the people attacked the police,” he said.

– Will you continue cleaning the Center?

“It will continue, we cannot have Mazatlan kidnapped,” he replied.
