Prodecon notes that seizures or awards of SAT properties are made for fines that are for minimum amounts

In Sinaloa, there have been 15 cases of housing awards and fines before the Tax Administration Service (SAT), including some that were fines of the Federal Police, which immediately become charged by the Treasury. If it is not done in a timely manner, the natural or legal person may lose even his or her assets.

The delegate of the Taxpayer Defense Office (Prodecon), Carlos López, explained that this procedure is not known to the public, and especially when payments are less than one thousand pesos, it is a procedure that they allow to pass, but not being fulfilled in the established time the SAT automatically performs an embargo.

If the affected person is not reported, he continues with an award and subsequently passes the property to an auction, the same can happen with bank accounts, which automatically freezes.

From 2013 to date there have been cases where, for amounts 800 pesos, a taxpayer can lose their assets, whether housing, land, vehicles, among other belongings.

“There are natural or legal persons who are not pending their states before the SAT and do not realize these legal procedures,” said the delegate.

    Lost

Prodecon explained that when the assets are in seizure, this can be recovered once the payment of the fine has been made, but this is not the same when it already passes to the adjudication process, which is why it considers it important that, in the event of any sanction for part of the Federal Police, the payment is issued as soon as possible; the same is true for fines that SAT presents to taxpayers who are not up to date with the payment of their taxes. “The amount doesn’t matter. If it is due from 500 pesos, it must be paid, as there may be direct awards from the SAT, ”he said.

The federal agency calls on taxpayers who are unaware of the operation of the SAT or who require legal advice to approach their facilities, where with the advice of tax accountants and lawyers they can take their case at no cost.
