La Paz, Baja California Sur (BCS). A 70-year-old man lost his life on the afternoon of Saturday, February 8, while kitesurfing on El Datilar beach, in the municipality of La Paz, BCS.
According to the first reports, the events occurred shortly before 3:00 p.m., when an em´loyee from a restaurant in the area observed a person floating in the sea, and immediately called 911.
Police officers came to the place, entered the sea and rescued the person, who minutes later was attended by paramedics of the Red Cross delegation, who confirmed that the man no longer had vital signs.
The victim was confirmed to be a US citizen, unofficially identified as William “N”, whose body remained in the sand waiting until the forensics staff transferred him to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo).
Agents of the Public Prosecutor initiated the corresponding investigations.
