Thousands attend Elota Oyster Fair, Sunday is last day

The beaches of Celestino Gasca served as a framework for the event that estimates record attendance with more than twelve thousand people from different municipalities and even abroad

Elota, Sinaloa.- The World’s Richest Oysters arrived from the rocks of the Celestino Gasca beach to the table of the gastronomic pavilion of the Fourth Elota Oyster Fair.

Mayor Giovanni Escobar Manjarrez highlighted the importance of the event that he estimates brings together over twelve thousand people, which represents an exponential growth in the arrival of visitors from different municipalities, such as San Ignacio, Cosalá, Culiacán, and Mazatlán.

An impressive gastronomic show, where the oyster reigned, was presented to thousands of diners who since the inauguration at the beginning of activities gathered to taste dishes such as rockefeller oysters, oyster avocado, marrow with oyster and the scallop in its shell.

The first day brought with it different activities such as the world’s largest scallop contest, exhibition of sand sculptures, mechanical games and the coronation of the first queen of the scallop fair.

This Sunday the activities will start from 10 in the morning with volleyball tournaments, the arrival of the oyster route with 4 × 4 vehicles, among others prior to the closing ceremony.
