“Mazatlan is a quiet, safe city with a good perception of peace and security from citizens and tourists”, said municipal official, José de Jesús Flores Segura.
The Secretary of the City Council stressed that the Public Security department has worked very hard in crime prevention, even some internal changes have been made to be more efficient and deliver better results.
The local official highlighted the work of the Municipal Police, and cited as an example that on Friday Jan. 24, they arrested in flagrance four people involved in vehicle theft, that were immediately taken before the corresponding authorities.
“Today there were four detainees in fragrance for the crime of car theft, the detention was carried out by the Ministry of Public Security. There have been several arrests in the last 24 hours of people who had a criminal record, and that we need to put behind bars ” he said.
Flores Segura said that there is good coordination with the three levels of government; as well as with the National Guard, the Navy and the Army, and these actions have contributed to the reduction of crime rates in the Municipality.
