Cancun, Q.R. — The Cancun chapter of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI) will attend the upcoming International Tourism Fair (Fitur) where they will look for non-tourism real estate projects.

The upcoming la Feria Internacional de Turismo (Fitur) fair is being held in Madrid at the end of January where the president of AMPI CAncun, Miguel Ángel Lemus Mateos, says they will attend what he calls, the most important in the world.

Mateos says la Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios (AMPI) of Cancun will attend the fair that attracts 160 countries and more than 11,000 companies.

“We follow the governor’s line to diversify the economic development of the state. That is not just tourism. We will look for other alternative businesses such as hospitals, shopping centers, technology centers, financial centers, scientific research universities, spas, who want to come to invest in Quintana Roo and diversify the offer,” he said.

He also said that while travel agencies and hoteliers will go after tourism, AMPI will seek investment capital, financing, technology and platforms for new businesses.

Of the arranged appointments, he confirmed that he will meet with the president and delegate of la Federación Internacional de Bienes Raíces (FIABCI) to whom he will propose that Cancun be the world headquarters of its next summit.
