The delegation of Mazatlan, which will go to the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), in Madrid, Spain, will begin its trip to Mexico City to take an Iberia direct flight to the Spanish capital,

This great European forum where the most important countries in the world attend to “promote” their tourism offer, as is the case of Mexico with the assistance of a federal delegation, headed by Miguel Torruco.

On the part of Sinaloa, the State Secretary of Tourism, Oscar Pérez Barros, and some of its officials will be there to offer in the international market the product “Costa-Barrancas”, in the limits with Chihuahua, Copper Canyon, Los Mochis and Mazatlan among other beach places.

On behalf of Mazatlan, the delegation is chaired by Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, who this morning told a reporter that he will leave on January 21 to Madrid. The munícipañ president practically tops a list of about 30 people, including municipal officials such as the Director of Economic Development, David González Torrentera, and at least 24 businessmen, hoteliers and tour operators from Sinaloa.

Mazatlan’s agenda at FITUR is very well balanced and, for the first time, goes with a delegation to an international tourism forum outside the country.

The “Riviera Mazatlan” project is what the delegation and mayors and officials of the municipalities of the southern state, such as Escuinapa, El Rosario, Concordia, San Ignacio and Elota, seek to promote.

“The “Riviera Mazatlan” is a comprehensive, regional project, where all municipalities are added with the clear vision of “selling” the best historical, cultural, gastronomic attractions and not only sun and beach”, said Mayor Benitez Torres.

“To bring European tourism is the goal and we want a direct flight from Europe to Mazatlan”, said the mayor, and added that there is much interest from the federal government, through the Ministry of Tourism and the Mexican Foreign Ministry, to have flights to Sinaloa and Mazatlan, directly from the Old Continent.
