The Mazatlan Book Festival 2020 is coming; it will be from January 8 to 12

MAZATLÁN.- Under the motto “Read, for La Paz” Mayor Luis Benítez Torres and the Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Art of Mazatlan presented the details of whatever the edition of the Mazatlan Book Festival 2020.

This literary event will be based at the Plazuela Machado in the heart of the Historic Center of Mazatlan from January 8 to 12.

The office manager of the Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Art of Mazatlan, José Ángel Tostado, together with the organizers announced the details of the activities that will be held in this edition where the main ones are the presentations of books by national and international authors In addition, events will be held at alternate locations in the city’s colonies.

While Benítez Torres stressed that he is confident that this Book Festival is a success.

“My commitment was to make a Book Festival better even than what had been done before here in Mazatlan (…), for us this activity is unprecedented, it is the first time we organized it, we are very confident in having an excellent event”, said the Munícipe.

He added that on Wednesday, January 8, the businesswoman, Mexican policy and current president of Morena, Yeidckol Polevnsky Gurwitz, will present the most recent book by the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador: “Towards a Moral Economy”.

“One of the things that I liked a lot is a literary alley, the idea is to remember all the characters that have lived in Mazatlan that are part of our literary history,” said the mayor.

Finally, he informed that it was decided to create a literary corridor in Mazatlan that will begin with this festival to continue with the event of delivery of the National Poetry Prize “Clemencia Isaura”, this in the framework of the coronation of the Queen of the Floral Games of Mazatlan International Carnival and another series of events that will come to highlight literature and thereby encourage reading among Mazatlecos.
