The largest earthquake reached 5.8 degrees, the National Seismological Service reported

The National Seismological Service announced the seismic activity that Mexico recorded during what was basically the last week of 2019.

The agency pointed out that in the period from December 23 to 29, 470 earthquakes were reported in the country.

The Seismological explained that the largest earthquake was 5.8 degrees at the Richter scale.                   

“The largest of magnitudes 5.8 and 4.5 located off the coast of Chiapas,” says the SSN.

Similarly, an event of magnitude 4.8 was reported off the coast of Jalisco.

The states where most seismic activity occurs regularly are Oaxaca, Chiapas, and Guerrero.
