New road to Puerto Vallarta postponed again

For all those travelers who expected to travel to Vallarta in record time in the next vacation, that desire has to wait since the Via Corta will be finished until the end of 2020.

According to the balance of works carried out during 2018, the Vía Corta project should have been completed by October 2019.

With information from Mural, the Ministry of Communications and Transportation reported only 56% of the progress of the project, which in turn should have been completed in 2014. The project has invested 6 million 454 thousand 36 pesos in total and still need economic resources to be able to conclude the journey.

The works of the Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta highway project began in 2012 with projections to be completed in two years. For its part with information from Mural, the SCT first announced that the section would be completed by April 2018, then in September, the last for October 2019 and now it was postponed until 2020.

The Nayarit Center of the Ministry of Communications and Transportation said that the work has not stopped in recent years, however many of the sections have required extra work.

The units trust that the road is ready by the end of 2020.
