The company said it would invest 300 million dollars in our country for the 2019-2024 period.

The logistics firm DHL will create a new division in Mexico, as it also wants to distribute medicines and vaccines in Mexico.

” DHL is starting a new business, I believe that 2020 will be very dynamic for us in that sector, yes there is a contract, but we still do not move any vaccine shipments, that is very important to say,” said José Aguilar Méndez in an interview, DHL Express security director.

He pointed out that the contract with the Mexican government authorities is not yet finalized since it is being clarified what the volume, amount per piece, and what the seasonal vaccine delivery programs will be for the infrastructure and capacity to be require be prepared.

With the entry of the new administration, the medication purchase process was changed, the distribution of the medications was separated, with the intention of taking control of this market from companies that, according to the government, charged a surcharge that exceeded 35 percent for their delivery services, when it is usually between 5 and 7 percent.

The manager said that entering the distribution of vaccines and medicines had nothing to do with the market opportunity for the new contract model made by the government of Mexico, as they are plans that the company of German origin started long ago.

“It is one of the most important contracts of this year, we are trying to find laboratories that have these products, the last 12 months we have been training more than 600 people to be supervisors in the handling of these sensitive goods,” said Aguilar.

The logistics firm already carries out these actions in the United States, Europe, Canada, and Asia, now Mexico will be the pillar to start in the region and then expand it to Central and South America.

DHL announced in a meeting with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, an investment of 300 million dollars for the period 2019-2024, in 2019 already placed 20 percent.
