By the border crossing of Laredo, Texas- Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, at noon this Tuesday, around 1,300 vehicles with civilians entered Mexico from the United States.

This Megacaravan of countrymen comes to our country to visit relatives or vacation on the occasion of the end of the year season.

Jalapan de la Serra, Querétaro, is the destination of this caravan, which takes place for the twelfth year. 

The countrymen will advance along the roads of Tamaulipas, Nuevo León, Coahuila, and San Luis Potosí.

The civil society organization “Migrantes Unidos en Caravana” concentrated the nationals in Laredo to start this trip.

“On their route, they will be guided by security elements, agents of the National Migrant Institute, as well as personnel that will provide health services, civil protection, mechanical assistance, and tourist information, at the rest stops installed for the Winter Operation of the Program Countryman 2019. ”

To protect this caravan, personnel from the Federal Police, National Guard, Green Angels, Blue Angels of the State Secretary of Tourism participate, as well as state and municipal police.

Tamaulipas roads will monitor by 3,000 police during winter vacations

The Government of Tamaulipas will place 14 modules of security, tourist information, and prevention along the roads of the state. A total of 2 921 elements of different police corporations, with 983 vehicles that will monitor the Tamaulipas roads and recreation and rest destinations that the state has.

Miguel Torruco Marqués, Secretary of Tourism of the Federal Government, in his message thanked the hospitality of the Tamaulipas.

“I greet with affection my good friend Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, Constitutional Governor of this beautiful State of Tamaulipas, who comes back to life, thanks to the good Government and above all to his people, that always the support of society is fundamental for may all states succeed, ”he said.

In this deployment, in which all government orders participate, it will offer up to 16,000 services to more than 60,000 tourists, traveling around 1.8 million kilometers.

García Cabeza de Vaca said that the Government of Tamaulipas is ready to receive the countrymen and make their arrival and passage through the entity, pleasant and safe thanks to the services deployed on the roads of the entity.
