More than 200 soldiers arrive in Sinaloa in support of the police

Culiacán, Sinaloa.- More than 200 elements of the Secretary of National Defense arrived in Sinaloa on Tuesday to reinforce surveillance operations on the occasion of the end of the year, said State Under Secretary of Public Security, Carlos Alberto Hernández Leyva.

This new squad will coordinate with the troops of the Ninth Military Zone and with the police corporations and, it will be up to them to define patrol and security strategies in the city of Culiacán, he said.

The police chief said he does not know to which elite group of the Army they belong, also if they all stay in the municipality of Culiacán.

“They are from the National Defense Secretariat, we do not know what type of units they have sent but they are from the National Defense, they are not from the National Guard as far as I understand, we need to know also how long they will be here to be able to operational plans, ”he detailed.

It was at the facilities of the Ninth Military Zone that the troops were instructed by the Brigadier General DEM Maximiliano Cruz Ramos, commander of the Ninth Military Zone, on behalf of the DEM Division General Carlos Ramón Carrillo del Villar, commander of the Third Military Region to work for the welfare of sinaloense society.

During the message to the military forces, Cruz Ramos said that prevention activities consist of a greater presence inside commercial plazas during different times of the day, tours in official vehicles in the main avenues of the city, as well as tours in the surroundings of the busiest areas, all in conjunction with authorities of the three orders of government, which seeks to inhibit the commission of crimes that affect the population in their heritage.

Finally, Major Carlos Alberto Hernández confirmed that the soldiers were staying at the El Sauz security complex, located in the Costa Rican union.
