“Violent crime is widespread,” says the US Department of State in the Travel Alert update
The United States Department of State updated the travel alert for Mexico, where it suggests its citizens not to travel to 5 entities in the country, among which the state of Sinaloa stands out.
The alert for the Sinaloa entity is level 4, that is, it is suggested to American citizens, NOT to travel to the designated areas, because of the level of insecurity that they live in.
“The No Trip Alert is for crimes. Violent crime is widespread. Criminal organizations are based and operate in the state of Sinaloa, ”said the statement from the US Department of State.
In this update, the travel alert excludes Mazatlan, Los Mochis and Topolobampo, as long as you travel with certain restrictions.
Mazatlan: U.S. government employees can travel only by air or sea. US government employees UU. They are limited to the Golden Zone and the historic center of the city, and must use direct routes when traveling to and from those places and the airport and cruise terminals.

The other states where the Warning is declared to travel, are: Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán, and Tamaulipas, where level 4 is also alert, that is, it is suggested not to travel to these entities due to the level of insecurity they present.
In the case of Tamaulipas, it is noted that organized crime exists and the rate of kidnappings is also high. The suggestion to reconsider the trip is in: Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Jalisco, State of Mexico, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Sonora and Zacatecas.
Sonora and San Luis Potosí, are the entities that were included in the reconsideration list for the traveler. This travel alert is updated by the State Department every year.
In April 2019, the State Department included the K indicator in the travel alert, to warn of kidnapping in 35 countries, including Mexico.

Office of Foreign Ministry issued an advisory Monday saying citizens should “take precaution amid the growing indiscriminately violence, specifically hate crimes including racism and discrimination” when traveling to the United States.The alert noted that other factors, such as the “indiscriminate possession of firearms by the population” and the “impossibility of authorities to prevent these situations,” were among some of the reasons travelers need to be particularly wary of highly populated areas or events.
The statement posted by the Foreign Ministry said that the “recent proliferation of violent acts and hate crimes” need to be considered by those planning to travel into the US.”These increasing acts of violence have found an echo and support in the conversations and actions impregnated by racial discrimination and hatred against migrant populations, pronounced and executed by the supremacist elite who holds political power in Washington,” the statement read in part.According to the statement, one of the main reasons for the violent acts in the US is the “inexcusable indiscriminate possession of fire arms by the population, encouraged by the federal government.”

Beijing issued a travel advisory for the United States on Tuesday amid heightened tensions between the countries, one day after warning about visa issues for students seeking to study in America.
China’s foreign ministry and its embassy in the US cautioned travellers to raise their safety awareness and respond “actively and appropriately” in light of US law enforcement agencies using methods, such as immigration checks and home interviews, to “harass” Chinese travellers.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism released a separate travel advisory urging Chinese to pay attention to safety when travelling to the US, citing frequent shootings, robberies and theft.
“Chinese tourists in the US should fully assess the risks of travelling to the US, keeping up to date with information about public security, laws and regulations, and conscientiously improve awareness to ensure safety,” the advisory said. Both alerts are valid until the end of the year.The reminder comes as Beijing and Washington remain at an impasse over their months-long tariff war, with tensions extending beyond trade and technology to travel. It follows China’s official warning on Monday for Chinese students and scholars seeking to study overseas in the US, urging them to “raise their risk assessment” after reports about increased visa delays and denials in student applications.

Last year, the number of Chinese visitors to the US declined for the first time in 15 years, down 5.7 per cent to 2.9 million, according to data from the US National Travel and Tourism Office. The country still represents the fifth-highest source of international tourists in the United States, accounting for around 12 per cent of overall tourism spending.
