María Astrid Macías Fregoso, director of the Mazatlan Tourist Assistance and Protection Center (CAPTA) indicated that this event for the foreign community will be the opportunity to start dialogues with French, Japanese, Canadian and Americans living in the port to learn of their needs and give attention to problems they have.
There have been cases of violence against foreigners where they do not know who to go to and sometimes the procedures are quite bureaucratic, such is the case Dianne tells a reporter about a foreign resident.

Macías Fregoso said that in winter periods around 30 thousand foreign tourists “Snowbirds” visit the city, in addition up to seven thousand, have homes here, so it is important that the municipal government has these types of events to make them feel more comfortable in their periods of stay.
