Sinaloa authorities investigate the sale of adulterated alcohol in bars and clubs

To verify the authenticity of alcoholic beverages that are sold in restaurants, bars, and clubs, the State Government inspection and regulations department, in coordination with the Sinaloa State Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks, and agents of the State Preventive Police began a series of surprise operations last night in this city.

The head of the inspection and regulations department in Sinaloa, Octavio Ruiz Fonseca, indicated that these reviews focus on an analysis of the product in which it is intended to monitor the origin and legitimacy of them.

He added that it is important that if a citizen has suffered any experience arising from the lack of a quality product, he can file a complaint at 800-849-7911.

“Fortunately we have not had any report, no formal complaint to the telephone that the citizens have there, but we wanted to do it preventively speaking, we do not want something to happen to be able to act,” he said.

For his part, the head of sanitary operation of Coepriss, Jorge Parada, stressed that they carry out different preventive tests on the bottles they have displayed for sale.  

“The verification of this product is preventive, if it goes wrong, the laboratory is sent to Guadalajara, and the sanction is applied by the management and regulation of alcohols,” he said.

The director of inspection and regulations in the entity, Octavio Ruiz Fonseca, explained that at this time, there is a notable increase in the consumption of intoxicating beverages, and these operations aimed exclusively at detecting adulterated alcohol.

He stressed that the supervisions will be made in the negotiations of this city, and next week will be applied in the north and south of the entity.

He added that there are different penalties that apply to the owners of these businesses, and if they detect minors apply the highest fine that is 20 thousand pesos, in the second they cite the owner, and in the third, they permanently suspend the license of alcohols.
