Expats attend ‘Mazatlan Cares’ first fair directed at foreigners

The foreign communities of France, the United States, Canada, and Japan had more than 15 city, federal agencies, and consulates to answer their questions or concerns

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The first “Mazatlan Cares” Services Fair was held in Zaragoza square, with the aim of including the foreign community in the activities of the port.

Astrid Macías Fregoso, director of the Tourist Assistance and Promotion Center, described the event as positive and timely because it is the season in which foreigners arrive most in Mazatlan.

She added that this first service fair “Mazatlan Cares” was held with the purpose of providing attention to foreigners who live in the port by season so that they know the intentions that the City Council has and all its support programs

“We in our module were attending, for example, I tell you right now some people told us about imported vehicles we channeled to the corresponding agency,” she shared.

The agencies that participated in the “Mazatlan Cares” where the Ministry of Public Security, Revenue Department, Citizen Attention, Municipal Sports Institute, Social Communication, Culture Institute, DIF System, Sedectur, Beach Operator, Profeco, National Institute of Migration and Customs.

For his part, Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres said that the event is important for Mazatlan because foreigners also have needs and have chosen to call Mazatlan home.

The event was attended by members of the foreign community of France, the United States, Canada, and Japan.
