Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The big international brands of hotels are betting on Mazatlan and therefore the offer of this destination could increase to 18 thousand hotel rooms, said Javier Lizárraga Mercado, Secretary of State Economy.
After confirming that Grupo Posadas will invest in a hotel in Mazatlan, the state official confirmed the interest of other brands and announced that in a few years there will be 5,000 new rooms.
“We started in January 2017 in the management of Governor Quirino Ordaz: there were 9,400 keys or rooms in Mazatlan; these became – already in these days – in arribita of 13 thousand keys and we bring right now in project 5 thousand new keys for the next years ”, commented.
“Another Holliday Inn is coming, another Marriot is coming in another format: the Marrior Courtyard that is in the Golden Zone is going to end and another Marriott is coming… it’s also talking with Westin, with Hilton, in short, we’re talking about several brands, Fortunately, it is now the brands that are interested in Mazatlan, ”said Lizárraga Mercado.
