“Federal roads are being permanently monitored so that the national and foreign tourists can travel peacefully”, said the chief inspector of the Federal Police of Social Proximity (PFP) based in Mazatlan, Karlo Castillo Gracia.

The vehicular flow on the roads has doubled by caravans of Mexicans based in the US.

Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties are coming, but most of them come down to Mexico to celebrate the Virgin of Guadalupe on December 12.

The head of the PFP Mazatlan police station stressed that the security operation begins on December 17 and ends on January 7, 2020.

However, surveillance has intensified on the Mazatlan – Durango corridor. And also, from Mazatlan to Culiacán.

He ruled out the presence of armed groups in the federal highway zone, and stated motorists can drive without any problem.

The inspector recommendsnot to drive drive long stretches, and take time to rest.

Mazatlan is an intermediate point, and those who come from the United States may well spend a day or two here, before hitting the road again.
