After heavy rains city delivers mattresses, stoves and construction material to affected families in Mazatlan

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The local government, through the Directorate of Welfare and Social Development, has delivered mattresses, bed bases, stoves and even construction material for families affected by the past rains registered in Mazatlan, Tonatiuh Guerra Martínez reported.

The local official said that the aid has been provided with its own resources to more than 50 homes; nevertheless, the register of beneficiaries will increase because there were affectations in 28 colonies of the locality.

“We have delivered furniture, mattresses, the“ Weight to Weight ”program; building materials is what we are delivering right now ”

Is the beneficiary putting a share of the resource?

“When that program comes in, we absorb 100 percent, now we have helped around 50 lots, not family, lots,” he explained.  

He said that the social workers of the Commune are still raising censuses in the different colonies. Work is also continuing to clean some schools in the region.

“Apart from the DIF, we will deliver a list of beneficiaries that they carried out in the area of ​​López Mateos, Jacarandas and November 20; we are working in other areas of the city, we are in the Jesús García, Anahuac, Azteca neighborhood because remember that all the colonies that have channels on one side were flooded, ”he said.

The Director of Welfare and Social Development clarified that with the emergency declaration issued, only mattresses, blankets and cleaning kits will be available for the affected families of Mazatlan, Culiacán, Elota, and San Ignacio.
