The suspect hid the American community in the Lake Chapala area; he killed the couple to steal their truck and mobile home
Elements of the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office succeeded in capturing a US citizen who was wanted for a double homicide registered in Texas last October. The subject is accused of beating a couple of New Hampshire couple.
The arrest was carried out on Tuesday, November 5, in the vicinity of a property located on Paseo del Lago Street, in the town of Ajijic, municipality of Chapala.
The aforementioned subject is 33-year-old Adam Curtis Williams, who at the time of his arrest was accompanied by a woman identified as Amanda Noverr, also of American origin. A three-year-old child, the couple’s son, is under the shelter of the United States authorities.
The man is charged with the murder of James Butler, 48, and his wife Michelle Butler, 45, whose bodies were buried near a beach in Corpus Christi, Texas. The motive for the homicide would have been the theft of his truck and his mobile home. The couple was reported missing on October 14 and finally, the bodies found half-buried the morning of October 28.
It was reported that the couple a year ago decided to quit their jobs and began touring the country in their mobile home until they finally reached the south coast of Texas where they were killed. The couple’s next destination was to migrate to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to buy and resell Christmas trees.
According to the Texas government, through a photograph taken at the border, it was learned that Adam Curtis Williams crossed into Mexico with the same truck that he stole from the murdered couple.
The alleged murderer and his wife arrived on Thursday night in Texas where they were available to the Kleber County police to be prosecuted and where they set a bail of one million dollars. If found guilty, he could face the death penalty.
