Los Mochis, Sinaloa .- The first cuts of pumpkin, green beans and other fresh vegetables of the season in the region began, which began to be sent for marketing to the United States.
Marte Vega Román, president of the Farmers Association of the Rio Fuerte Sur, said that even when it comes to the first shipments of the season, the start of the harvest is always hopeful because of the impact this represents for the regional economy and the generation of jobs that have a positive impact on the inhabitants of the different rural communities in the northern part of the state.
He noted that according to the daily report issued by the Cacades trocadero that operates in Nogales, Sonora, from where the different products are interned to the American Union, the first perishables that are attending the border are: Italian zucchini and green beans and the next Weekly, the spicy peppers and cucumber pickles will start.
Regarding the advances presented by the sowing programs of the different vegetables in the region, the leader of the farmers commented that to date about 3 thousand hectares of 4 thousand or 4 thousand 500 hectares have been established that are established in conditions normal in the valley.
He said that fortunately the first shipments are being channeled with good price expectations in the markets, which hopefully are fulfilled because this is very important for producers, considering the high production costs of different crops.
