Mazatlan Sinaloa.- During his participation in the third ordinary assembly of the South Economic Council of Sinaloa, Mayor Benitez Torres acknowledged that the economic outlook for the country is complicated for next year.

Forecasts indicate that in 2020, 18 states will have a declining economy, eight will remain the same and only the rest would have an economic recovery, which makes adjustments in all areas of public administration necessary.

However, he said that Mazatlan is calm, as national and foreign investment will continue to grow thanks to the quality of life offered by the municipality and that attracts large entrepreneurs to the port.

He stressed that Mazatlan is ranked as the sixth city in the country with the best quality of life and the best in the northwestern region, according to the survey of Most Livable Cities of Mexico 2019, in which satisfaction rates of public services offered by the Municipality and the evaluation index of Mayors.

The Mayor reiterated the importance of the concretion of the Office of Congresses and Conventions, and said that to give financial certainty to the project, which will help to end the cyclicality of tourism, it is necessary that it enters the budget of the State Government, which would allow its operation despite not having resources derived from 3 percent of Lodging Tax.
