Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- After the mayor of Mazatlan, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres said that he does not know where the resource generated by the 3 percent tax on hotels in Mazatlan is, which is supposedly used in tourism promotion, the director from the Ministry of Tourism in Sinaloa, Óscar Pérez Barros responded.

Pérez Barros explained that the promotion of the port is being done correctly, using the maximum 117 million pesos that have been invested, that is why the figures that are available are on record.

The Secretary of Tourism invited the ‘Mayor to join the work tables, however, he warned that the money will not touch the Municipality, will only participate as part of the Council.

“If you want to ask for a space there it is, the numbers here they are. They won’t threaten me, I speak reality and the numbers are the results. That is, if there were no results. Everything is open here, ”he said.

“It’s up to the Municipality of Mazatlan, it’s the one that uses the most funds. I’m talking about the Municipality, Mayor no. If they think that money is going to arrive at the City Council, that will never happen and has never happened, ”he added.
