The Port Captain, José Enrique Mora Reyes reported that the restriction is for vessels under 500 Gross Tonnage Units

Mazatlan, Sin.- Due to the increase in the swell that reaches seven feet high, the Regional Port Captaincy ordered the restriction of vessels under 50 Gross Tonnage Units.

The Captain of the Port, José Enrique Mora Reyes informed that from 8:45 am on this week’s start the determination was made not to allow the navigation of smaller vessels, such as sports, recreational and nautical tourism fishing.

He pointed out that the limitation is due to the high swell that is in the bay, which is caused by winds of 25 kilometers per hour, which disadvantages the performance of activities in the sea of Mazatlan.

Mora Reyes added that if conditions improved, the port would be opening again in the next few hours so that producers and tourism service providers return to their usual activities.
