Representatives of the State and the Municipality meet to speed up the process that allows the new police to join the actions of peace and security of Mazatlan

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The Government of the State and the Administration of Mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres set a period of one month to validate 72 cadets who graduated from the local police academy, and that these join the actions to provide peace and security to Mazatlan.

On Saturday afternoon, the City Council Secretariat, José de Jesús Flores Segura, head of this unit met; Joel Bouciéguez Lizárraga, Undersecretary of State Government; Renato Ocampo Alcántara, Executive Secretary of the State Council of Public Security; Ricardo Olivo Cruz, head of the Police Professionalization Unit of the Ministry of Public Security and Federico Rivas Valdés, Secretary of Municipal Public Security.

At the meeting, they stressed the importance of reaching agreements so that the rules governing the National Public Security System are fully complied with, register the cadets as police officers and then they serve the citizens.

Bouciéguez Lizárraga said that municipalities and the State require police, and if these 72 cadets are already trained, they will find that they meet all the requirements to register them in the state and federal systems and enter the Municipal Police of Mazatlan.

For his part, Ocampo Alcantara commented that they will comply with the regularization of the cadets who were enrolled and trained by the Metropolitan Academy of León here in Mazatlan.
“The young people who graduated from the Metropolitan Academy of León, are already in activities and what we need is (…) to be able to contribute to the work with the municipalities, do what is necessary so that the young people can already be as such municipal police or transits, in his case, ”he said.

Ricardo Olivo Cruz mentioned that the registration of the cadets will be made before the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, so that they obtain their professional ID and can act as police officers. “… all we want is to give it certainty and that these young people are already exercising social proximity.”

Federico Rivas Valdés, head of Municipal Public Security, hoped that in less than a month, the corresponding formalization and collective license to carry weapons will be obtained.

“With a view to 2020 having the possibility of having at least about 200 new municipal police officers, and in 2021, another 200 more, in order to reach the goal of 1,400 police officers, which is the minimum necessary to meet the needs that the Mazatlecos require very justice, ”he explained.

For its part, Flores Segura highlighted the cordial and institutional work carried out by the State and Municipality in an effort to solve problems in the area of ​​security in the city.
