Mazatlan, Sinaloa. – To avoid the possible proliferation of people affected by dengue, the Health Sector carried out fumigation work around the “Teodoro Mariscal” baseball stadium.
The head of the area of vectors and zoonosis of the Health Jurisdiction Number 6, Víctor Arredondo Rojas, informed that the work carried out corresponds to an operation on the occasion of the start of the baseball season, which began on October 12.
It was a mobilization that included working around the colossus of the Stadium subdivision, to prevent the proliferation of the “Aedes Aegipty” mosquito, which is the cause of dengue disease.
He said it was an average of 3,500 homes in which fumigation work was carried out, which corresponds to houses that are around the stadium and in the surrounding subdivisions.
These actions, he mentioned, are intended to prevent people arriving from other parts of the Mexican Republic from taking or bringing any serotype of the disease.
Arredondo Rojas said that the operation was launched before the inauguration of the baseball match between the Venados de Mazatlán and Tomateros de Culiacán teams.

He commented that it was 12 days, two weeks, that the staff in charge focused on visiting the buildings to make recommendations to avoid the accumulation of stagnant water.
In addition to the removal of pots, where dengue vector moss is possibly generated, he said, fumigation routes were made to counteract the mosquito larvae.
3,500 homes around the Teodoro Mariscal stadium were fumigated.
