Durango & Sinaloa seek to trigger the regional economy through the port of Mazatlan

The Secretary of Economy of the State of Sinaloa explains that work is being done on the rearrangement and efficiency of the port so that Sinaloa and Durango can contribute to the development of the region

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Through the strategic plans carried out by the Comprehensive Port Administration of Mazatlan (API) and the efforts of the Secretaries of Economy of the Northeast of the country, it will seek to strengthen the commercial development of the region of the Economic Corridor of the North, using the port of Mazatlan as a trigger for this, explained Javier Lizárraga Mercado, Secretary of Economy of Sinaloa.

“What we want to do in this new restructuring of the AMSDE (Mexican Association of Secretaries of Economic Development) is precisely for this purpose so that the Northern Economic Corridor returns to strength and, above all, most importantly, that we understand that the port In and out is Mazatlan for the runner, ”he said.

He added that in this AMSDE restructuring, the Sinaloa entity is no longer located in the Northwest region, but Northeast.

The Secretary of Economy stressed that Jorge González Olivieri, director of API Mazatlan, has presented a project to the port community where the rearrangement that is proposed to apply in the port to make this route a reality is explained.

Lizárraga Mercado commented that there will be a meeting with other economic secretaries to work on how to take advantage of this port and the Durango entity to work in partnership and generate a commercial development that benefits more entities.

“We are going to work in a single region (…) that we can with Durango and Mazatlan not only be working as a region but include the entire Northern Economic Corridor, generate this issue as it was already achieved in the Bajio, already united the secretaries of Economic development as a single group are achieving many things, ”he added.
