The delegate of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Baja California Sur, Homero Davis Castro announced that the construction of a specialty hospital in Los Cabos is planned, with that, the patients of the institution will not have to travel to Obregón, to attend This new hospital will have 260 beds, he said.

“The great specialty hospital, which I want to be clear about, is a hospital with about 2,000 million pesos (of investment) in Cabo San Lucas; there I want to thank the Mayor who has already donated a land of 5 and a half hectares; this would have 260 beds, would include nuclear medicine, we would avoid any transfer, ”said the official.

In this regard, he mentioned that this hospital will attend all the specialties of medicine, among which nuclear medicine stands out, in which body functions will be evaluated and, through it, diseases can be diagnosed and treated.

“It will address all specialties, CardiologyInternal MedicineDentistryNuclear Medicine, among others,” said the head of Social Security, who said he was proud to lead these new projects, although he said he will no longer be in charge of the dependency when he is We are a reality.

Similarly, he indicated that, for the time being, the idea of ​​this construction is in the process of justification, although it is already in a 60% progress, since one of the main reasons is that in Baja California Sur there is no medical unit, where various specialties are treated.

“I want to be very clear what the process is and where it is going, we already have the land, which again I thank the Mayor because it is a land with a value of 80 million pesos, we already have the justification, then 60% of the project, ”emphasized Homero Davis.

Finally, he was questioned about the tentative date on which construction work will begin, to which he replied that he hopes to reveal the date in December of this year, once authorization is granted.

“I want to be cautious but I would wait, I told them that I could die at ease to be able to give the announcement before December in particular, but we already have the medical authorization,” he concluded.
