UABCS La Paz launches its call for the Triathlon Pesquerías 2019; it will be held Sunday, Oct 20th

The registration process concludes on October 16 at the UABCS; the event will have a limit of 140 people

La Paz, Baja California Sur (BCS). Next Sunday, October 20, the “Triathlon Pesquerías 2019” will be held, which will be promoted by the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur (UABCS), a contest that is within the fourth date of the State Triathlon Serial. 

The event has the endorsement of the Coordination of Triathlon of La Paz, which will begin from 7:15 am, outside a well-known hotel located in front of the port of Pichilingue, in the capital of Baja California Sur. 

Men and women may participate in different categories, between the age ranges of 14 to 15 years, 16 to 24 years, 25 to 34 years, 35 to 39 years, 40 to 44 years, as well as 45 to 54 years and 55 years and older; In addition to mixed relays. The distance to travel will be 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers (km) of cycling and 5 km of the pedestrian race. 

Those who wish to participate must register through the portal www.timermexico.com. The registration time and deadline is at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16 or until space is exhausted since only 140 people can register (110 individuals, 10 teams).

The cost for “ Sprint ” is 750 pesos and “ Relay ” of 1,050 pesos. This fee includes a package for competitors, consisting of numbers for a helmet, bicycle, and race; swimming caps, supply route and goal, commemorative shirt and the first 50 registered, a number holder.  

The delivery of the kit and a meeting will be the day before the competition at the University Cultural Poliforo of the UABCS and attendance is mandatory. All participants must present their duly signed exemption letter at the time of picking up the package. 

Those who are finalists will receive a medal; while, the fourth and fifth place will be awarded a recognition and only the first 3 places in each category will get a trophy. 

The UABCS Fisheries triathlon, as an event, was the first of its kind organized in the state of Baja California Su r, beginning in the mid-1980s.

 “This constitutes it as a tradition and for this reason, we are inviting the citizens to register, but also to attend that day to enjoy and support the competitors,” said the member of the organizing committee by the UABCS, Javier Arce Meza.
