Given the economic uncertainty that the country is currently facing due to AMLO’s unorthodox decisions and policies, an alternative investment option is a franchise-type business, which can be very profitable, as long as it is carried out under serious a business model standards and following the brand operation manual.
As part of the presentation of the third edition of the Mérida Expo Franchise 2019, the director of this event, Katarina Scekic, highlighted that after Mexico City, the Yucatecan capital is the most attractive Mexican city to invest in franchises, mostly for its safety (public security) and economic growth.
“85 percent of the one thousand franchise businesses in the country, is Mexican, out of which 200 are already operating in the state of Yucatan with very good results; we are talking mainly about restaurants, but there are also beauty, medical, beverage, hygiene and automotive-related franchises in operation,” she said.
At a press conference, Scekic pointed out that Mexico is currently the seventh franchise-generating country worldwide, with 1,500 firms, out of which 200 are in full operation within the Yucatan Peninsula (Yucatán, Campeche, and Quintana Roo).
The businesswoman, who is a Mérida resident, stated that the third edition of the Mérida Expo Franchise 2019, which will be held on October 19th and 20th at the Mérida International Congress Center (CIC), seeks to bring business opportunities to local entrepreneurs concerned about maximizing their potential return and minimizing risk, and don’t want to start their projects from scratch.
Katarina Scekic concluded that the event will be attended by more than 70 exhibitors and over 100 brands that belong to different industries.
“The objective of this expo is to boost the state economy, with a focus on entrepreneurship and aiming at the generation of strong commercial ties”, the director of the Mérida Expo Franchise 2019 declared.
